On 31st December, Equity Bank Limited becomes Equity Group Holdings Limited, a non-operating holding company. The same year, Equity launches FINSERVE, its technology arm and Equitel, the first true convergence between banking and telecommunication- driving 2.7 million Equitel activations and 20% market share within two years.
