Equity Opens a Second Branch in Gikomba

Equity Bank has opened a new branch at Gikomba market as it aims to increase financial services available to individuals and businesses in the area. 

Through its extensive branch network, Equity has continuously implemented initiatives to empower and drive gains for small businesses through the provision of a wide range of financial services and financial literacy programs. 

The new branch will provide needed convenience and accessibility for individuals and business owners. The branches will link businesses and business owners to key suppliers and distributors through effective working capital financing across the business value chain.

Additionally, Equity extends free financial literacy program which is aimed at stimulating job creation and economic growth by providing customers with financial, entrepreneurship and digital literacy training and mentorship. The new branch will actively be involved in improving financial capability and inclusion and empower customers with financial knowledge and skills, ultimately enhancing their financial management.

Equity has opened other new branches across various locations in the country. These new branches are strategically located in Mombasa-Kenyatta Avenue, Mariakani, North Horr  branches with Kahawa West relocating to West View Plaza along Northern Bypass and Kakuma to Kakuma town, next to Gateway Health Centre. This expansion is in line with bank's  commitment to providing accessible and efficient financial services to the communities Equity serves.

All Equity Bank branches are interconnected across the six markets the Bank operates in. This interconnectivity allows customers to deposit or withdraw money in any of its branches. For example, depositing at the Gikomba Branch and accessing the funds in Kampala, Uganda or Kinshasa, DRC through Equity’s borderless banking (intercountry) payments and account settlement solution. This solution facilitates easy trading within the East African Region, making it an ideal partner for businesses looking to expand their operations across borders. Equity has 404 branches, 83,142 agents, 33,179 POS merchants and over 1.1 million PayWithEquity Merchants across East and Central Africa.
