Kinshasa - EquityBCDC enters a new stage in its evolution with the appointment of Willy K. Mulamba as Managing Director, succeeding Celestin Mukeba, who has held the position of Managing Director of EquityBCDC since 2020. With over 20 years' experience in international financial services, Mr. Mulamba, former Managing Director of Citibank DRC and former President of the DRC Bankers' Association, brings solid expertise in corporate governance, risk management and transaction negotiation, as well as in-depth knowledge of local markets in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This strategic leadership transition reflects EquityBCDC's ongoing commitment to the growth and socio-economic development of the Democratic Republic of Congo, which will directly benefit customers. It testifies to a renewed commitment to customer service, renewed technology platforms for ease of banking convenience on digital platforms, and to the Bank's long-term strategic vision, ensuring that customers continue to receive the highest level of service.
This turning point is also marked by the reorganization of the management team, including deputy general managers in both the West and South regions of the country and a new DRC country manager for the Equity Group Foundation (EGF). The foundation will play a crucial role in fulfilling EquityBCDC's vision of championing the socio-economic prosperity of Africans, and Congolese in particular.
EquityBCDC's mission and objectives remain unchanged. The bank is committed to remaining close to its customers, offering them innovative solutions tailored to their needs, while actively contributing to the local economy.
